We are delighted to announce that we will build a luxury spa as part of a £1million investment plan.
The owners of the 17th century Stratton House Hotel in Cirencester have unveiled their plans after permission was approved for the new facility which will feature five treatment rooms, beauty suites, a steam room, sauna, juice bar and an outdoor jacuzzi.
Planned to open in early 2020, the spa will also provide ten new jobs including therapist and receptionist roles.
The 325 square metre facility will be built in the north east corner of the hotel, overlooking the hotel’s listed walled garden.
“We now have an extensive eight-month build process to get the new spa ready and we are focusing on making every little detail perfect,” said Aidan Steven, owner of Stratton House Hotel. “We have visited spas across the UK and abroad, and will be trying to replicate all the good practice we’ve seen to give people a place in which to relax and unwind.”
“It is the icing on the cake that the spa will bring ten new jobs to the local community and add to the 40 staff we already have. Overall, the build will be another milestone in the hotel’s history and we are certain guests will love the health and wellness facilities it will offer.”
It is three years since owners Mr Stevens and his wife Sarah purchased the 44-room hotel.
Since 2016 they have spent over £1.5 million revamping its bedrooms, function rooms, the public areas and restaurant.
Popular with corporate guests, the husband and wife team are also turning the hotel back into a sought-after wedding venue.
Stratton House was originally the home of 17th century wool merchants, the Masters family. It remained a private home until 1947, when it became a hotel.
It features mature gardens and extensive off-road parking.
